OPD SECTION |

|
This
section is running by 01 pediatrician, 02 Gynecologists and
other paramedical staff. Jam-e-Shafa is maintaining
OPD by five well-qualified and experienced doctors
and other trained paramedical staff. An average of
100 - 150 patients are examined daily including
Children and women. Free medicines and other
facilities are provided to the patients attending
Jam-E-Shafa Hospital (JSH). |

INDOOR
SECTION |

Jam-e-Shafa
hospital is providing admission services to the
community.The capacity of hospital for indoor
patients is 20 beds.
In this section mostly children and Gynae /Obs;
related patients are admitted, other cases such as
Malaria, Typhoid, Diarrhea and burns are also
admitted.
For
proper management the timing of this section is
divided in to
three shifts.Cases such as
cancer, cardiac, orthopedic and complicated TB cases
are referred.
Jam-e-Shafa hospital is well equipped and trained
staff provides 24 hours services for the needy and
poor community.All these services available at
Jam-e-Shafa hospital (JSH) are free of cost.

GYNAE / OBS
SECTION |

|
Jam-e-Shafa
has labor room and minor OT section which has been
working for poor and needy people for 24 hours .We
are performing normal deliveries abortions and
manage incomplete and missed abortion cesarean
sections are also performed here.
Complicated cases are referred to Civil Hospital
Bolan Medical Complex Hospital and Alkhidmat
Hospital. For
resuscitation of new born we have skilled staff and
equipments.

MCH
SECTION |

|
Jam-e-Shafa
Hospital by its experienced Lady doctors and LHV/s is
providing antenatal, natal and post natal services
to the poor community of the catchments area. Even to
those who are coming from too far areas. |

EPI
SECTION |
 |
|
|
In
this section women and children are vaccinated to an
average of 20-30 per day. Vaccines are provided by
Save The Children. This is the only center that is
providing EPI services to all beneficiaries in the
catchments area. In this section all the routine
immunization are done.
During Polio eradication campaigns (NID) Polio drops
are administrated to children under five years by
JSH mobile teams.Similarly TT vaccine is also
provided to all women of child bearing age.Jam-e-Shafa Hospital is providing vaccine for six
preventable dangerous diseases for all children
under 5 years and TT vaccine to child bearing age
women according to EPI schedule. We are also trying
to include vaccine for Hepatitis B and vitamin A
drops in this programme. |

LABORATORY

Jam-e-Shafa
Hospital is providing Laboratory services to the
poor community through its well-equipped laboratory.
The lab is being supervised by Health Net
International on monthly basis. JSH has a Laboratory
running by one expert Lab technician. The tests such
as Malarial, parasite, widal, pregnancy,
blood CP,Urine D/R ,stool D/R , HB, T.L.C, E.S.R,
D.L.C and HBs Ag are free of charge, while rest of
the bio chemistry tests are referred to (MC)
laboratory.The slides of malaria parasites are sent
to central reference laboratory Health Net
International Quetta for crosschecking. The laboratory is
being supervised / assisted by the above-mentioned
source on monthly basis, and the performance report
is being sent to laboratory.
REFERRAL SERVICES:
Jam-e-Shafa Organization has referral contact with
very good hospitals in Quetta (Bolan Medical
Complex) Murshad Hospital and Karachi (Aga Khan Hospital). Many
patients whose treatment is not possible in Jam-e-Shafa
hospital, based on referral agreement they are
treated in the mentioned hospital free of cost , A
child with agenesis of anus was referred to Agha
Khan Hospital With the corporation of Human
Foundation,colostomy operation was done free of
cost. |

SONOLOGY
SECTION |

Jam-e-Shafa
hospital also has ultrasound machine for proper
diagnosis and management and in time referral of
complicated patients. It is very valuable for
obstetric cases.The applications of ultrasound in
obstetrics are numerous. The assessment of
gestational age by measurement of various fetal
parameters, detection of fetal life, localization
of placentas in pregnancy, complicated by bleeding,
detection of fetal malformations, fetal
presentation and that the diagnosis of tumors
associated with pregnancy. |

PHARMACY
SECTION |

Our
Pharmacy section is providing medicines to women and
children free of cost. These medicines are donated
by UNHCR, MSF and Human Foundation and Humdarad
Laborites and Government of Pakistan Health
department which is
being provided to poor and needy Afghan refugees and
poor local community who
cannot afford to purchase these medicines from the market. The
Pharmacy is monitored by Health department of
Balochistan. |

AMBULANCE SERVICE

Jam-e-Shafa
Hospital is providing ambulance services 24 hours
through out the week for the patients of catchments
area. The ambulances are fully equipped and
providing emergency services.
Whenever required the patients are referred to
Jam-e-Shafa Hospital for further medical management
and dropped at their homes after recovery and
referred to other different hospitals including BMCH and Civil Hospital Quetta for further
management. One ambulance was donated by Government of Japan through Grass Root assistance (GRA)
programme. Other ambulance was donated by Ministry
of SAFRON Islamabad. |

MID WIFE TRAINING
SECTION |

|
Jam-e-Shifa
hospital (JSH) conduct training courses for the
female . A total 20 nurses per year are trained. This
programme was started in 1994 and till now 180
nurses were graduated and trained from this
institute. These trained nurses
are providing services in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The purpose of this training is to provide the
opportunity to the Afghan refugees females to get
the training and serve in their community to cope
with the emergency and delivery cases on the spot. Some of the graduated students are performing
their services as Traditional Birth Attendants (TBA).
These
females are valued by their communities and are
providing their valuable services to refugees women
in camps and in urban areas. |

GROWTH MONITORING
SECTION |

|
|
In
this section average 50 to 60 children per day are
monitored. For growth monitoring most of them or
malnourished. For these children we provide milk and
food supplements twice a week. Severely malnourished
and high-risk patients are referred to other
hospitals like Bolan medical complex hospital (BMCH)
for management.
Mothers counseling is also done for regular
follow-up and management. LHV's in the community are
motivating mothers for growth monitoring of their
children on regular basis and educate them on the
importance of Growth Monitoring.
PD/Hearth Program (Supplementary Feeding):
Those who are under weight they are enrolled for
PD/Hearth (Positive Deviated/ Hearth) program .In
this program mothers receive 12 days training on
nutrition and the children get food and nutrients
for the specified period. |

LIESHMANIASIS SECTION |

|
The
rate of C.Leishmaniasis cases are observed to be
high enough. To overcome this disease Jam-E-Shafa
Hospital launched this programme for the last two
years which is running very smoothly and
successfully. Here we have experts to investigate,
diagnose and treat C.Leishmaniasis.
C.Leishmaniasis is very common in this community.
Before this programme people were unaware but now
the people have become aware about C.Leishmaniasis and comes frequently and are
recovered, indicating the tangible result of
treatment by Jam-E-Shafa hospital. |
